NEW MAP FOR NIGERIA AS PROPOSED BY CONFAB

The National Confab in July made recommendations for the Nigerian states which was 36 to be increased to 54 by adding 18 more states to the Nation. Above is a copy of  the would be Nigerian map if the states are created.

The new states proposed by the conference are: Aba, to be carved out of the present Abia State; Katagum, from Bauchi State; Ijebu, from Ogun State; Amana, from former Sardauna Province; Apa, from Benue State; Anioma, from Delta State, Savannah, from Borno State; and Etiti, from South-East.

Njaba/Anim, from Anambra and Imo states; Gurara, from Kaduna State; Ghari, from Kano State; Adada from Enugu State, New Oyo from Oyo State; Orachi, from Rivers State; Ogoja, from Cross River State; and Kainji, from Kebbi and Niger states Ose state from Edo, Edu from Niger.

The Closing ceremony will take place tomorrow 21st August.

As a country with only 36 states we have so much trouble with tribalism and disagreements with regions and borders even with those in the same zone. Is the creation of these new 18 states, expected to bind us or separate? I believe the confab were sleeping when they passed this as a recommendation. Having said this it is still up to us to decide.

EBOLA UPDATE: FOUR VICTIMS DISCHARGED, U.S. TO PARTNER WITH NIGERIA TO FIGHT EBOLA

According to MDB, the Minister of health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, has today said that four patients undergoing treatment for the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) have been discharged .
Those discharged include two male medical doctors and a female nurse who helped to treat the index case Patrick Sawyer.
This brings to five the total number of patients diagnosed with Ebola Virus Disease who have now been discharged from hospital.

Meanwhile, the United States of America has pledge to collaborate with Nigeria in containing the spread of the Ebola Virus. The U.S Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr James Entwistle said this on Monday after a close door meeting with the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu. Though the Ambassador was not specific on the kind of help it would render or whether the Ebola experimental drug will be given to Nigeria.

AFRICANS ARE NOT WELCOME TO THE BAR DUE TO EBOLA VIRUS SAYS AN AMERICAN OWNED RESTAURANT IN KOREA

An American-owned restaurant in South Korea has caused controversy online after pictures of their discriminatory sign against Africans was uploaded on the Internet 2 days ago. The sign says  Africans are not welcome in the bar due to Ebola Virus. Everyone on twitter took a swipe at the bar owners, accusing them of ignorance and racism. 

Many are going as far as boycotting the bar since the sign was put up. See some reactions below... Africa you have some haters and Lovers...

The Heart part 1

Above is the word for today. I pray that our hearts will always be open to love, quick to forgive no matter the hurt and that the slide of our hand touch will melt away the tears of people around us. 

Let your heart be not Like the the glasses that when it is shattered cannot be mended and when mended the (glued)scares remain, let it not be like the wood when it is broken and mended the piercing of the nails remain to hurt the next man, your heart is no paper that can be torn by the mere touch of a match stick, it should neither be hardened like the metal that cannot be broken nor moved by love.

Let your heart be deep and pure as the Oceans. Deep so that when the the glass, the wood, the paper falls into it, it disappears deep down, rusts,decays yet the surface of the oceans is pure still. And when the iron rod falls into your heart ocean, you take it and throw it away, no grudges. An Oceanic Heart can not be torn nor broken, but only separated which no man has done since the time of Moses.
Let your Ocean heart not be bitter to dig up rusted and decayed particles to the surface of the ocean to spite the fisherman because you not only spite them but yourself.
Let the heart be pure and deep without grudge, don't let the heart be pure and deep and dig up the rusty-dirt that are years gone.
When the heart is indeed truly pure the touch of the heart will be felt by the helms of earth and the realms of heavens. you. Let your heart be immersed in love and Eschew no evil thought.

Let this mind that was in Christ be in you.

AN IGBO MAN AS DEPUTY GOVERNOR IN LAGOS 2015 ELECTION- SAYS IGBO UNITED INITIATIVE

Few Months to the 2015 general elections, more people are calling for the Igbos to produce at least the Deputy Governor of Lagos State.

According to an interview conducted by The Daily Sun, the latest call is coming from the Igbo United Initiative (IUI), a renown pressure group in the state.
In the interview, the chieftain of the IUI, Chief Amobi Nnadiekwe, said that people from the South-East zone in Lagos will vote for any political party that fields an Igbo as deputy governor.
Nnadiekwe, who doubles as the Chairman of Win Peace Investment Ltd, claims that the Igbo constitute 43 per cent of the population in Lagos.

Below are excerpts from the interview:

Your group has been sensitizing the people of South-East to vote any political party that fields an Igbo as deputy governor of Lagos in 2015. So far, what has been the response?
The response was wonderful. We plan to visit town unions and markets in Lagos State especially, the ones dominated by Igbo. It is time to be part of the political process in the state where Igbo contribute over 52 per cent to the state’s economy. Of course, you know that South-East constitutes 43 per cent of the state population. To that extent, we deserve the position of deputy governor. With the number of Ndigbo in Lagos, no doubt, if collectively we decide to vote for any party in Lagos, the party must win. Lagos State has continued to marginalize us politically, hence, Igbos have decided to demand for their right. We have written to all the political parties in the state, informing them of our resolve to vote any party that fields an Igbo as deputy governor. CONTINUE....

EBOLA: HOPE FOR EBOLA DRUG CRASHES AS "NANOSILVER" FAILS HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

Many Nigerians were happy when it was announced that a drug for Ebola was on its way to Nigeria after the U.S declined the request to offer Nigeria its Ebola drugs. But on Friday, the U.S announced that the Drug "Nano Silver" is a known pesticide (click here to read Story).
The Health Minister Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu has also confirmed that the "Nano Silver" did not meet the health requirements and will not be used on the Ebola patients. He said this while receiving the US Ambassador in his office today, 18th August, in Abuja. Prof Chukwu is quoted as saying;     

"The experimental drug, Nano Silver did not meet the requirements of the National Health Research Ethics Code. Accordingly, the approval was withheld by the National Health Research Ethics Committee,” Chukwu said.

EBOLA INFECTED DOCTOR RECOVERS, DISCHARGED FROM QUARANTINE

Doctor Ameyo Adadevoh has recovered and has been discharged from the Isolation centre in Lagos. Dr. Ameyo is a senior consultant doctor at the First Consultant Hospital where Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian-American who brought Ebola into the country was treated, and she was among the first Nigerians who tested positive with Ebola virus.

According to Vanguard Newspaper, the Director of Communication and Community Mobilisation for the Nigerian Emergency Operation Centre on Ebola Virus Disease, Adebayo Onajole, confirmed to media that Adadevoh had been discharged.

He however declined to give further details, saying the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, would hold a press conference later tonight to fully brief the media about the doctor’s recovery.

NUHU RIBADU LEAVES APC, JOINS PDP

Former EFCC chairman Nuhu Ribadu has joined numerous party defectors in the country. According to Premium Times, Nuhu Ribadu has dumped the All Progressive Congress(APC) and Joined the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

A member of the executive committee of the PDP in Bako, Mr. Ribadu’s ward in Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa state, told PREMIUM TIMES that the anti-corruption chief has been registered as a member of the party and given a party membership card. The source asked not to be named because he was not authorized to disclose the development to journalists.

Finally when it looks as if our Ebola trouble was about to fade away, the Americans stepped up their game.

The Ebola drug "Nano Silver" which was expected to arrive Nigeria yesterday for the treatment of the Ebola Virus among Nigerians has been refereed to as a "Pesticide". The United states for Food and Drug Administration said the drug is a Pesticide and warned Ebola affected countries against the use of such drugs.Continue after the cut....

MEET THE WOMAN WITH 14INCH NAILS, LARUE DRUMMOND

Larue Drummond, 54-year-old mother of four, used to be a chronic nail biter as a child, biting her nails to her cuticles until they bled. But according to Larue all that changed when she met a woman at the super market with long nails, who told her, 'when you look after your nails, they will look after you.'

She stopped biting her nails and began to grow them long. Eight years ago, the big fan of nail art decided to stop cutting her nails entirely and has spent not less than $10,000 since then to maintain them.

Some people are very curious about how Ms Drummond manages everyday tasks with her 14-inch talon and she insists she cooks and does other everyday tasks easily. She said:

‘People stop me wherever I go and ask about my nails. I'm always happy to talk about them.
‘The most frequently asked question is how do I go to the bathroom. I tell them, “the same way as you do. If you know of another way, let me know.”’

But not everyone is comfortable with her unique look. Ms Drummond says;
‘I've seen people snigger at my nails. Once a woman wouldn't even sit next to me as if I had a disease or something. It really hurt my feelings. But it's who I am so I am not ashamed. If I broke a nail that couldn't be fixed I’d feel bereaved. My nails are my babies.’

Gratitude Part 1

Gratitude for Life, Thankful for each day. Are you wondering what you should be grateful for?

When i woke this morning, like every other morning, i was undoubtedly happy. Happy for so much love within and around me from my creator and i knelt down with my hands clasped together, i thanked him for a brand new day to experience his undying love, for the morning sunshine that peeked through my window.

It is important that we are grateful for all we have, because life is not of our own making but the Almighty. Like an Igbo saying goes, Anyi kene dike na nke omere ome kwa ozo which translates as "if we thank him for the things he does for us he ll do more".

Thanking him always at all times whether the weather be good or whether the weather be bad. As we learn to be grateful, it should not be an act but an attitude. Gratitude is an attitude of noble souls.

Let also be thankful to fellow men when they shew us with kindness. Gratitude dissolves chaos, creates love, brings peace and gives you much more than you can imagine.

So lovelies, be grateful to God for his our maker, be grateful to man for the Kindness he shows you.

Start being grateful to someone today, you may just find something Good.

GEJ SUSPENDS ALL RESIDENT DOCTORS

The President of the federal republic of Nigeria has ordered the immediate Suspension of the resident doctors. This was made known to the doctors through a circular from the Ministry of Health. According to the circular, the suspension is expected to aid the Government  appraise the challenges of the health Sector.

This suspension comes at a time when the health workers are needed to contain the spread of the Deadly Ebola Virus. There has been recent complaint of neglect of the Ebola Victims in the isolation wards. The question is, if all resident doctors are suspended who will care for the sick, will the available doctors be sufficient to handle the health sector or will health care be in the hands of few expatriate doctors?

I don't Usually do this but when Babies are involved its a sure Deal. Baby West, the daughter of Kanye and Kim West did her first modelling debut in the newest issue of CR Fashion book. She was all clothed in Channel and with her is the most expensive baby purse(I dont know how much its worth tho).
And on the background is a quote from the fashion and stylist icon Karl Lagerfeld, which reads,"it is never too early to care about Fashion."
North west is 13months old. She certainly looks cute.

I do not know if i want my baby to debut into modelling at 13months old but i do want her to be this stunning.
Isn't she beautiful, see those eyes....lols.

EBOLA: NURSE JUSTINA DIES OF THE DEADLY EBOLA VIRUS

Nurse Justina Obi Ejelonu, (pictured above) who attended to late Liberian Patrick Sawyer while he was ill at the First Consultant hospital Obalende in Lagos, has died.
Ms. Ejelonu who until her demise today had been kept in a quarantine facility in Lagos. Justina was 25years old at the time of death. May her Gentle soul rest in peace..Amen

Meanwhile, an experimental drug "Nanosilver" developed by a Nigerian in diaspora for the treatment of Ebola is expected to arrive the country today, the Minister for Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, has said.

The drug, “Nanosilver”, has been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) as an experimental treatment ethical in the case of the Ebola epidemic. The Federal Govt yesterday approved the experimental drugs as a treatment for the deadly virus.

I hope that the drug works for the affected victims of Ebola and that the Death of Justina and other health workers who passed-on will not be in Vain.

The Pope is on a five days visit to South- Korea to Join Asian Youths in celebrating the 6th Asian Youth day which is the gathering of Asian Catholic youth, and hold Mass for Peace and Reconciliation, also prayers for peace, including South and North Korean relations.

CBN RE-INTRODUCES THE ATM CHARGES AGAIN, CUSTOMERS TO PAY N65

Less than One year after the Automated Teller Machine(ATM) fee was scrapped by the Sanusi regime, the Central Bank Nigeria (CBN) has instantly re-introduced the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) fee it scrapped in December, 2013. The apex bank said from September 1, customers will commence payment of N65 as against the N100 fee charged previously.
The CBN Director, Banking & Payments System Department, ‘Dipo Fatokun, who made this known in a circular, the re-introduction of Remote-on-us ATM cash withdrawal fee of N65per transaction, is to cover the remuneration of the switches, ATM monitors and fit-notes processing by acquiring banks.

He explained that the new charge shall apply as from the fourth transaction in another bank’s ATM. Continue to Read below....

EBOLA: 21 SUSPECTED CASES IN ENUGU STATE

A nurse in Lagos who had contact with the Liberian Man Patrick Sawyer has fled quarantine in Lagos to Enugu to be with her Family.
Her decision  has affected another 20 people including her husband. All 20 people had primary contacts with the nurse and all are under surveillance in Enugu state.

According to Channels report, Three people have so far died from the disease in Nigeria; Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian-American businessman who collapsed in Lagos, an attending nurse, and an ECOWAS staffer who helped Sawyer while he was in Lagos.

According to Mr Maku, 198 Nigerians have been traced to have contacted the virus. While 177 are in Lagos, 21 persons in Enugu are being watched.

The FEC devoted this week’s meeting to the efforts being made to combat the Ebola Virus which entered Nigeria some 23 days ago and had been declared a National Emergency.

Meet three young women who are determined not to let anything stop them despite being victims. Read their story....

Young Indian women who are acid attack survivors have spent years hiding their faces but now, they have cast off their shame and pain to appear with smiling faces in a new photoshoot by Rahul Saharan.

Rupa, Rita, Laximi (right to left) and have all been the victims of horrendous acid attacks. Rupa, who has just started her own clothing collection, called Rupa Designs, designed the clothes used for the photoshoot.

Rupa, 22, is trying to put the past behind her and look to a brighter future. She says;

'I always wanted to be a designer but after the attack there was a pause in my life. I was so insecure and embarrassed by my scars I used to cover my face with a scarf. I always hung onto my dream but I never knew that one day it would be possible and I would be launching my own label.'These young women are trying to show their attackers they will no longer hide their faces and that they deserve to live a life of dignity.

EBOLA: ZMAPP, EBOLA EXPERIMENTAL DRUG TO BE GIVEN TO LIBERIA

The White house has decided to release the ZMapp experimental drug for Ebola to Liberia. The White House and Food and Drug Administration approved the Liberian request for the drug to be made available to them.
The government of Liberia says that sample doses of the experimental Ebola drug ZMapp will be sent there to treat doctors who have contracted the deadly virus.

Liberia identified itself as the recipient of the drug after the company that makes ZMapp said earlier that its supply was exhausted after fulfilling the request of a West African country, which it did not name.

The delivery of the ZMapp to Liberia follows a request made on Friday from Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to President Barack Obama.

The sample doses will be brought to Liberia by a U.S. government representative this week, the Liberian government said

EBOLA: ANOTHER NURSE IN LAGOS TESTS POSITIVE TO EBOLA

Another Lagos nurse has tested positive to the Ebola Virus Disease(EVD). 

According to the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, on Monday, 11th August, he said that the newly married nurse was among those that had direct contact with the late Liberian man, Patrick Sawyer, who imported the disease to Nigeria .

Prof. Chukwu also added that the husband of the nurse was also among the 177 people who had now been placed under surveillance.
He added that, so far, nine have developed EVD,thus bringing the total number of cases in Nigeria to 10.

According to him, two people, that is the Liberian and the nurse are dead while eight are alive and currently on treatment.
The minister also said the infection of the virus had so far been restricted to Lagos as it had not spread to other parts of the country.
