You Cannot Read this Story: "My 25 Years as a Prostitute"-Raped, Stabbed and Shot

null
You cannot read this because it is long but if you can why Not. This is an inspiring story of a black American woman Brendan who suffered abuse, was rapped became a prostitute at age 14 and did this for almost 25 years. She said, "I've been shot five times, stabbed 13 times - I don't know why those men attacked me, all I know is that society made it comfortable for them to do so". Below is her story......

Brenda Myers-Powell was just a child when she became a prostitute in the early 1970s. Here she describes how she was pulled into working on the streets and why, three decades later, she devoted her life to making sure other girls don't fall into the same trap. Some people will find Brenda's account upsetting.
Right from the start life was handing me lemons, but I've always tried to make the best lemonade I can.
I grew up in the 1960s on the West Side of Chicago. My mother died when I was six months old. She was only 16 and I never learned what it was that she died from - my grandmother, who drank more than most, couldn't tell me later on. The official explanation is that it was "natural causes".
I don't believe that. Who dies at 16 from natural causes? I like to think that God was just ready for her. I heard stories that she was beautiful and had a great sense of humour. I know that's true because I have one also.

US Gay Rights: Robert Mugabe Ask For Barack Obama's Hand in Marriage.

Zimbabwe’s 90-year-old president, Robert Mugabe, has made a mockery of Barack Obama, the US president by asking for his hand in marriage.  Mugabe made this comment  during his weekly radio interview with Zimbabwe’s national radio last Saturday  in protest to the legalization of gay marriage in the United States by the Supreme Court. He said,
“I’ve just concluded since President Obama endorses the same-sex marriage, advocates homosexual people and enjoys an attractive countenance thus if it becomes necessary, I shall travel to Washington, D.C, get down on my knee and ask his [Obama’s] hand. I can’t understand how this people dare to defy Christ’s explicit orders as our Lord prohibited mankind from sodomy.''

Senate Tussle: APC Insists on Ike Ekweremadu's Removal

The ruling party, the All  Progressive Congress(APC) has said that the deputy senate president Ike Ekweremadu will have to resign his position, that a minority party(PDP) cannot hold such a sensitive position in the house. This was made Known on Monday by anonymous APC leader who said “a senator from a minority party take over the duties statutorily assigned for the majority party". The APC leader is quoted as saying;
“As deputy senate leader, Ekweremadu is automatically the Chairman, Senate Committee on Constitution Amendment. This is a sensitive position that, statutorily, should not be held by the minority.
“Ekweremadu and his PDP co-travellers will hamper the policies of the Buhari government. By the virtue of Senate rules, a member of the minority is not supposed to be the deputy senate leader; so, he is occupying the post illegally.
“We know the body language of some of these elements to anti-corruption. Nigerians know the stance of Buhari on corruption and insecurity. These elements occupying positions in the National Assembly must be removed. Otherwise, this administration is dead on arrival.”

He also said the President was in support of the candidacy of Senator Ahmed Lawan for the senate presidency and had told Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, to support APC’s candidates for the principal posts.
The National Executive Committee meeting of the APC will now hold on Friday.

PRESS STATEMENT - THE PLANNED RELOCATION OF BOKO HARAM CONVICTS TO ANAMBRA PRISONS
The attention of the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has been drawn to the mischievous speculations on the social media that the planned relocation of some Boko Haram convicts to some prisons in Anambra State was done with his tacit approval and endorsement.

I wish to categorically dismiss these speculations, hearsay and beer parlour banters as fundamentally untrue and should be disregarded by Nigerians. The fact is that when Governor Obiano got wind of the planned relocation of these high risk prisoners to Anambra State, he quickly swung into action and contacted the relevant authorities to seek clarifications on the matter after which he raised several objections to the plan.

Dele Momodu Expresses Disappointment Over the New Government In an OPEN LETTER

This piece was first published on Thisday newspaper. The Ovation publisher and a supporter of President Buhari, Dele Momodu, wrote an open letter to the president where he expressed  disappointment over the government of APC in the past weeks. He said, "I think there are are more desperate and ruthless politicians in this new government, it's definitely a Change from what we had previously". Read the article below...
Your Excellency, I write to you today with a heavy heart. The reason should be obvious. I was one of those latter day converts to Buharism, a political philosophy that believes in the reincarnation of former leaders in the days of tribulation. You were never the first man to resurrect from retirement and near political oblivion. General Olusegun Obasanjo bounced back from prison to Aso Rock Villa. In nearby Benin Republic, former military dictator and strongman, Mathieu Kerekou who had served as maximum ruler for about 17 incredible years, came back to defeat incumbent President, Nicephore Soglo in a 1990 election.  He led his country for another ten years and almost got another five-year term but for the age barrier that disqualified him.

Buhari Traces Stolen Money to the US, UK and other countries

The Buhari administration has started tracing looted Nigerian funds to the UK, US and other European countries. This was made known in a statement by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, who said that billions of dollars are being recovered. Also the presidency will also contract the help of a foreign private investigator to help trace the looted funds. See the statement in part...
“The next three months may be hard, but billions of dollars can be recovered, and we will do our best,” “The search will not only cover UK, US, Switzerland, Germany and other known havens for Nigerian looted funds but will cover everywhere under the sun. Anywhere and everywhere that the looted funds are, we have an assurance from the United States of America to assist us to repatriate these funds from anywhere under the sun.” “Everything that needs to be done to get all those funds repatriated will be done, including engaging private investigators,” the Presidential spokesperson added.
Femi Adesina said the next three months will be used to identify persons, banks and the amount ferried to the respective countries.

Is Buhari Already Confused? Etcetera Writes.

hmmm Etcetera writes , I will not say further just read...
If there is any group of individuals who can manufacture shock, political punditry out of nothing, it is the All Progressives Congress. They cried out that Jonathan was doing a terrible job as President of Nigeria. They said his inability to run the Federal Government is the reason our country has lapsed into wholesale chaos. He is the reason corruption decimated our population, turned brother against brother. He is the reason our military became weak and our borders constantly breached by Niger, Chad and Cameroonian gendarmes. He is the reason our cities have all lost power and we have reclined back into the dark ages. He is the reason why thousands of wild dogs/Boko Haram roam our streets and rip our children apart. With democracy being an institution where we worry about how many people ‘agree’ about certain things, APC must be concerned that Nigerians are actually seeing that Buhari is not the messiah we need.
