GEJ REACTS TO BEING NAMED 6TH RICHEST PRESIDENT IN AFRICA, DEMANDS APOLOGY

“We have noted with consternation the listing of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by a website – RichestLifestyle.com – as the sixth richest African President with an estimated net worth of $100 Million.

“The Presidency condemns the totally unwarranted inclusion of President Jonathan in the publication titled ‘Africa’s Richest Presidents 2014′ as another attempt to unjustifiably portray the President as a corrupt leader and incite public disaffection against him.

AGAIN? SOUTH AFRICA SEIZES NIGERIA'S $5.7MILLION IN ANOTHER SECRET ARMS DEAL

Premium Times is reporting that another $5.7 million has being seized from Nigeria again, above is the paper proof. Read details below,

South African authorities have confiscated yet another US$5.7 million arms money from Nigeria, nearly three weeks after seizing $9.3 million in cash transported by two Nigerians and an Israeli for arms purchase, South Africa-based City Express reported Monday.

As with the first deal, South Africa’s Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority seized the $5.7 million (about N952 million) for allegedly being the proceeds of illegal transactions, the paper said.

The news came more than two weeks after two Nigerians and an Israeli national were arrested in South Africa after they attempted to smuggle US$9.3 million apparently meant for buying arms for the Nigerian intelligence service.
The men landed at Lanseria International Airport, Johannesburg, on September 5 in a private jet from Abuja with the money stashed in three suitcases.

At the time, the South Africa Revenue Service, SARS, said customs officers became suspicious when the passengers’ luggage were unloaded and put through the scan. The National Prosecuting Authority, NPA, in South Africa said there was an invoice for helicopters and armaments intended to be used in Nigeria.
Nigeria-SA-Money-Laundering-2Two black plastic suitcases, filled with 90 blocks each containing US$100,000 in notes, with combination locks, were seized, as well as two pieces of hand luggage also containing US currency, according to City Press.
The Israeli national, Eyal Mesika, had the combination to open the locks.

EBOLA: LIBERIA'S CHIEF MEDICAL DOCTOR QUARANTINES HERSELF

The Liberia's chief medical officer is placing herself under quarantine for 21 days after her office assistant died of Ebola and has also order her medical staff to do the same.

Dr Bernice Dahn, a deputy health minister has no signs of Ebola but she wants to ensure she is not infected and will not infect others. The 21 days quarantine incubation period is the stipulated no of days by the World Health organisation for Ebola.

Liberia's government has asked people to keep themselves isolated for 21 days if they think they have been exposed. The unprecedented scale of the outbreak, however, has made it difficult to trace the contacts of victims and quarantine those who might be at risk.

"Of course we made the rule, so I am home for 21 days," Dahn said Saturday. "I did it on my own. I told my office staff to stay at home for the 21 days. That's what we need to do."

According to LA Times, Liberia has had nearly 2,400 confirmed or probable cases of the Ebola virus, plus more than 1,000 suspected cases. Cases continue to increase exponentially, with 150 reported in the last two days.

Liberia is among three West African countries, along with Sierra Leone and Guinea, that have had more than 3,000 deaths confirmed or suspected to be from Ebola. More than 6,000 people have been infected in the biggest outbreak of the disease in history.

Cardinal Okojie
In an exclusive interview with Sahara Reporters, Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie, the first President of the Christian Association of Nigeria,CAN, shared his thoughts on the current leadership of CAN and its affiliation with PDP.
He said President Jonathan and Pastor Oritsejafor has a money Laundering Case to answer deserve over the recent $9.3m South African arms deal scandal. He also said the President should hide his head in the 2015 election. Details from his interview below...

"We have to be praying for this kind of people, for them to have a change of heart. What are they looking for with jet? Another one said, “Jesus said go into the whole world and evangelize, so how can I go into the whole world, with what? I need a plane to be able to go to the whole world.” Even the devil can quote scripture. But did Jesus Christ say you should go and steal to go and buy plane? But now they are claiming that they were given the jets as gifts. But why can’t they spend that money on the poor? There are many Nigerians who are begging that they have nothing to eat, and yet you say you’re preaching. Preaching for what? Are there no pastors where they are going? May God not punish us according to our sins. CONTINUE TO SEE MORE...

WHAT TO DO WHEN OUR FEELINGS ARE LYING TO US

An Article Written by Dr Kelly a clinical writer, Enjoy it

My youngest son is a lot like me—he pretty much organizes his life around avoiding physical pain and discomfort. So, when he got pink eye, and the doctor ordered us to put antibiotic drops in his eye, I wondered if we could just lock him in his room for a few days until the pink eye resolved on its own.

Don’t judge me. I only wondered for a minute. Or two.

I took charge of the drops, because I can empathize a little better with his theatrics.

As he lay on the couch, writhing, eyes clamped shut and screaming, I realized his feelings were preventing him from receiving a healing balm. The drops weremedicine—they would be soothing and they would cure him. But my son’s feelings were lying to him, telling him the discomfort would be immense.

And there was nothing I could do to change his feelings. Continue after the cut.....

2015 ELECTION: NIGERIAN CELEBRITIES IN POLITICS

In 2015, you will be seeing your favorite screen celebrities try to compete for various position across the country to represent their people.

Firstly, as individuals i have not seen any of these people try to perform some Social Responsibility activities in theses localities they intend to represent. There is only man in this picture above who has always shown interest in grass root development and we know him. I believe charity begins at home.

Secondly, to help your community must you become a politician?  The money they earn as celebrities, can't they put that to use, organize charity balls to raise funds, besides they are influential that will not be so hard.

Thirdly, what qualifies somebody or someone as a leader. Is it wealth, influence, eloquence or showmanship?

And Kenneth Okonkwo has also joined the league of actors turned politician, he has taken his ambition to Enugu state .
Soon Koko master will emerge Minister of agriculture for producing "koko Garri".

May the best man WIN?

WORD FOR TODAY

CHOICES

Life is filled with multiple choices, sometimes the choices confuse you not the question itself.
Lately, I had to make some choices in my life the decision i eventually arrived at was not a popular opinion but i decide to "choose Life".
Everyday somebody somewhere is faced with the dilemma of taking a decision about their life, career, Education, relationship, marriage and even about God. Some us eventually arrive at a decision and say "i had no choice"
"I had no Choice" is a lie, you have a choice for whatever decision you decide to take. In the picture above, She stands in between cross roads and there are about six choices she has to choose from,6 Choices!
6 Choices is indeed wholesome and many of us have the same choices today. Before you make any decision in life like my evangelist friend would say, count your cost and seek God. How much would be lost? how much would you gain? What satisfaction would you gain? Will there be more Joy or more enjoyment? The reason for choosing is selfish, selfless or for change? These are questions to consider and more.
For the decision you want to take seek earthly opinion and heavenly direction. Don't choose the road taken by majority, choose the road less taken. Choose the hardest choice and choose life.
The word says i have placed before you Life and death to choose one(Deut 30:19) what will your choice be today. Make a choice that will give you life all round, a life of eternally service through Christ no matter the choice.
Choose "the man instead of any man, choose "purpose and career" instead of a Job, Choose "education and academics instead of school, choose "Love" instead of wealth, choose "Christ the Corner Stone" instead of religion and pastor.
CHOOSE LIFE!!!

CHIBOK GIRLS: FG IN SECRET TALKS WITH BOKOHARAM, REDCROSS INVOLVED IN PRISON SWAP

Last week, there was news from the international media that the Federal Government is on the negotiating table with Boko Haram for the release of the Chibok Girls.
According to UK Telegraph, the International Committee of the Red Cross is involved in a secret prisoner swap deal to secure the release of the girls.
Read the report below...

Officials from the Geneva-based organisation have sat in on talks between the Nigerian government and a senior Boko Haram leader currently held in one of the country's maximum security prisons. The Red Cross officials have also visited a number of other jails, identifying a list of 16 senior commanders that Boko Haram wants freed in exchange for its hostages.
The ICRC's role in the talks represents the first official confirmation that the Nigerian government is actively engaged in talks with Boko Haram over the release of the girls. Publicly, Nigeria's president, Goodluck Jonathan, has maintained that the government would never agree to any kind of negotiations.

The ICRC, whose global remit includes prisoners' welfare, has agreed to act as an independent party in ensuring that the two sides, neither of which trust each other, honour any prisoner swap agreement. It has also offered to monitor and oversee any co-ordinated exchange of the schoolgirls for the militants. Continue after the cut.....

OYEDEPO DEFENDS HIGH TUITION FEE CHARGED BY PRIVATE UNIVERSITITIES

The founder of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo, has defended the  high tuition fees charged by schools owned by the church, describing the provision of quality education as an expensive venture.
Oyedepo  said this on Friday in Ota, Ogun State, in a media chat organised in commemoration of his 60th birthday coming up on September 27, 2014.
Private schools have been criticized for the exorbitant amount they charge for fees, but Oyedepo highlighted some of the church’s humanitarian programmes which include providing scholarships and bursary awards to assist students. See his answer below.....

He said, “I’m sure we all agree that education is expensive. Education carries cost; nothing of value is free. Our mission for years long, before we started any university or secondary school, was a bursary awarding church and we have not stopped doing that till tomorrow.”Oyedepo said that the church was committed to providing quality education to youths, adding that many Nigerians complain about the cost of education in private universities because they have got their priorities misplaced.
“Our problem most of the time is priority; an average Nigerian can spend N1m on burial but to spend N200,000 on education (is a problem), because of wrong priority.“On a yearly basis, we have N1.5trn that Nigerians spend to overseas universities, so people thrive on it. Nigerians spend N463bn a month on recharge cards, how much are they paying for schools fees? So it’s all a matter of priority. This is the largest market for telephone in the world. Now, to pay N500,000, some people have only one son, they have huge business and houses all over the places, they will never pay it.”

DELE MOMODU WRITES AN EXPOSE ON NIGERIA AND THE BIG ABUSE

This is an article written by Dele Momodu, Quite lengthy and witty, Read on...

Fellow Nigerians, this is a very difficult moment in our country. It is also a confusing period for many of us. The only way to make sense out of the nonsense is to join the madness. We need to put ourselves in the position of those who see nothing wrong with our present predicament. If you’re on social media, you would be amazed at the contributions of some Nigerians who believe we actually live in Eldorado. Perhaps.

I’m beginning to think they are right and we are wrong. May be, we’ve been blinded by our inability to see and appreciate what the Federal Government has been able to achieve monumentally. I have no doubt that they are trying their best. My worry is if they can ever rise above this level even if they spend eternity. I decided to join their train this week and wish to invite you all to join me as I experiment a new style of reasoning.

What you are about to read therefore is the voice from the other side of the divide. I’m determined to discover what drives those guys [in the Presidency], why they don’t feel what we feel and we can’t feel how they feel. Is it that life is so good for them and so bad for the rest of us? For once, let’s try their shoes on and imagine their thought process. Why is it so difficult to accept their way of life and vice versa? Can there ever be a meeting point for us? The number of PDP operatives stuns me. What principle and ideology drives their faith? I see some very bright people and just wonder endlessly.

As I started writing this piece today, one song we used to sing in my childhood days came to my mind: “come and see, American wonder; come and see, American wonder.”
Ours is a wondrously terrific country...... CONTINUE AFTER THE CUT....

WORD FOR TODAY

WHO AM I? FINDING MYSELF...

Losing and Finding is part of being human. But sometimes we lose so much that we do not realize that we are lost and it affects everything around you.
Losing in this case does not mean failure rather it is a state of mind created by oneself because of the situation they find them-self. At a point in my life i realized that i was getting easily upset with people around me due to a difficulty i was going through. I had to embark on a personal evaluation and find the root cause because i didn't want to be that person.
Losing oneself can be as a result of losing a child, financial instability, unemployment, the death of a very loved one, sometimes heart break etc, the list is endless. Despite all the situation that makes us lose our cool we cannot allow ourselves and humanity go with an indefinite situation. Indeed, situations are indefinite, as a famous saying goes"No condition is permanent". Let not a situation define the man, rather let the man define the situation

To really find yourself you need to ask yourself , WHO AM I?  search the depths of your heart for answers, Who am i? The true man is not what is shown to the world but the man in the heart. When you find out who you are, find out who you were and who you want to become, these questions will be of great value to you. But also knowing who the Creator(God) wants you to be is  the greatest of all. The creator is the first man who knows you, so you must seek him diligently to find yourself.

Finding yourself is realizing that being strong is the option you have. Finding yourself is understanding who God wants you to be, Finding yourself is an opportunity to re-create yourself, finding yourself is Finding Joy.

Have a fine weekend....

SYNAGOGUE CHURCH: SOUTH AFRICAN DEATH TOLL IN COLLAPSED BUILDING RISES TO 84

According to news report, the death toll of South Africans who died in the collapsed building of the Synagogue church of all nations has increased from 67 to 84. The 84 death toll contradicts the 80 death toll being reported by the Nigerian media.

The South Africa's high commissioner to Nigeria, Lulu Louis Mnguni, who spoke this Friday morning, said "the number has risen to 84," Mnguni said. "The search... has come to a conclusion. There were still 17 bodies outstanding," said Mnguni

A total of 349 South Africans were in Lagos on matters connected to the church when the disaster occurred.

Out of the 349, 265 were found alive.

The Synagogue church should release the list of people in the building as at the time of the incident to ease the conflicting numbers.
