Lessons to be Learnt from the Life of Myles Munroe

Myles Munroe
Myles Munroe a Motivational and Inspirational speaker, a Minister, a Leadership Tutor, this was his Life until the 9th of November. Myles was also a father, a husband, a teacher and a "Man of Purpose".
Now that Myles is no more what have we learnt from Him?
Out of the 60 years Myles spent on earth, about 30 years was dedicated to the ministry he believed in, the ministry he was called to serve in. Myles Munroe meant different things to so many people but i will like to share a few things we should learn from the man Myles.
First Lesson, Myles Munroe knew what he was called to do and when he was done with school, he started his ministry. Myles discovered what he was born to do early in his life which helped him follow his ministry early in Life.In this first lesson, the principle of self discovery is important. We need to discover who we really are, we cannot spend(waste) a good number of our life on earth and finally realize when we are 40 that we are called for another mission. Discover yourself, discover the "Man within the Man-the Inner man". For parents help children discover who they are. If one can discover who they are from their childhood they will not find it difficult to fit in when they grow up. Last month Myles Munroe tweeted on self discovery on the 30th of October, he said "The greatest discovery in life is self-discovery. Until you find yourself you will always be someone else. Become yourself." - Myles.

Word for Today....FEAR

Fear, R101

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom" thus says the good book.

Fear is one factor that has hindered men and women from achieving greatness. The same fear has also paved way for courage and persistence for others to succeed. What is your greatest fear? What is that thing you want to do and fear grips, instead of carrying it out you shy away?

Each time i decide to write a post or a topic on this blog I fear. You know what the fear is? I fear how my words will come across to you, what impact I create, do i sound like a feminist, just so many weird thoughts but at the end of the day I publish what i have written awaiting the verdict. Yesterday, I never published what I did write but today i do. The similarity in yesterday and today is the "Fear Factor" but the difference is the "Presence of Courage". Fear does not exist to defeat us, when we let Fear win that is our own making. Many of us are scared of one thing or the other, some are scared of their parents, scared of telling the truth, scared of spouse, scared of falling in Love, scared of tomorrow, scared of approaching that CEO to give him your business plan etc all these fears amount to Losing all the things you could have won. Statistics has shown that 90% of the things we fear never happen. If we let fear stop us from doing something we will never know how they would have turned, we will live with the regret of never knowing the outcome. Continue Below....

Nigeria Vs Burkina-Faso: Should GEJ be In Burkina-Faso?

Residents of Mubi flee their homes
The heat in North-eastern Nigeria has totally escalated especially from a latest report, that the second largest city in Adamwa state, Mubi has been renamed to "Madinatul Isalm" meaning "City of Islam". As Boko Haram tries to turn the North Eastern region of Nigeria to a war Zone, the question is what is the presidency doing?

The President Flew to Ouagadogo this morning as one of the delegates to engage in a peace talk to help reduce the tension on going in Burkina-Faso but who is helping Jonathan squash the aggressive militants battling to Islamize Nigeria?
Mr President may be an Influential personality in Africa but he should not attend every party he is called to. President Goodluck Jonathan is unfit for this mission considering the fact that his governed nation is most unstable.
They proclaimed a cease-fire deal to us about three weeks ago and it seems the cease-fire deal awakened the sleeping lions. There are reports of total take-over in Mubi, check points by the Islamic sect, their flags hoisted in captured cities, forceful conversion of non-Islam and the constant abduction of young Nigerians from Villages all across Nigeria. The Incessant attack and bomb Blast has led to the closure of both private and public schools in Gombe state. These numerous activities are uncountable.

Quote For The Day

Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain... To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to mistakes and choices- today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.

Word For Today...Forgiveness Part 1

There are actions and mistakes we have termed unforgivable. Are their crimes, hurts, mistakes that are unforgivable?

Every crime is forgivable, no matter how heinous these acts were. The process of grieving and forgiving certainly is not an easy one but when you get to the state of forgiveness you will realize it is better than the state of unforgiveness. A couple of years ago I battled with unforgiveness, it was a really heavy experience and i tried to set myself free from it. It was not an easy road but through prayers and acceptance of my own mistake I was able to overcome.

Unforgiveness is like a truck of gravel in your heart. When we do not forgive our heart stays weighty. When you see the person involved you put an extra effort in showing your disdain for their personality, you put an extra effort in frowning which causes wrinkles. When you stay unforgiven to someone who has hurt you, you don't hold that individual in bondage, you also hold yourself in bondage. You are a prisoner to your own-self.

Is Lagos the Worst City to visit? Meet the Man who thinks so

Culled Image & Story from LIB

In an article titled" Worst Place I have ever visited" originally written on yahoo by a Travel expert Lee Abbamonte, a man who has traveled to 132 UN countries ranked Lagos ,Nigeria as the No.1 worst city to visit. This is what Lee said about Lagos,
"As far as I am concerned, Lagos, Nigeria, is the worst place on planet Earth. I’ve never experienced so much corruption in my life. It was just a horrific experience getting into the country. Crossing in from Benin, we got shaken down by the border guards. In addition to the multiple police shakedowns, the multiple ATM issues were enough for me; three times in two days, the machines dispensed the wrong amount of money. It was oppressive and hot. I couldn’t tell you one good thing about that place."
Other Countries on the list are Angola, Bangladesh, Republic of Congo, Sudan, Pakistan, Guyana, Afghanistan.

Back to the question, Is Lagos, Nigeria is the worst city to visit?
Some LIB readers went ballistic that Lee mentioned Lagos as the worst city to visit. But as Nigerians lets tell ourselves the truth, how true is this?
During your inter-state travel would you pick Lagos as the best? When you decide on a Vacation why not Lagos where the traffic is hell and the policemen double-hell, why do you fly to Dubai? Share your views

WORD FOR TODAY...PRAYER

prayer
Pray for the Nation
Prayer and Today i prayed for my Nation again. I knelt down and i was filled with thanksgiving to the creator for my nation not because we are the best but because we are blessed.

Sometimes when you are from a nation like Nigeria, Liberia, Syria, Somalia etc you ask why should i pray for my nation? but the bigger question is why should you not? The good book says, the prayer of the righteous availth much.

I prayed for Nigeria today because the things which should have led us to war against ourselves did not. There is trouble in our land but the people are bent on sticking their neck-out till the end for one nation.

There is so much war going on, leaders threatening fire and brimstone as the election approaches, so much hate in the world and the words of peace relegated to the background as a weak strategy. The only option is to pray. The heart of religious extremist across the globe is filled with hate and they are bent on destroying nations, they don't listen to words but we can pray. We can pray for their hearts, that their hearts experience true love, the love of Christ.

We will pray for leaders of our nation for their hearts that they will be more Selfless and Less Selfish, so they will do that which is expected of them. And above all we pray for other men and ourselves that we do not become the men we criticize. Praying for nation will bring healing to our land and will turn the face of the creator to show us mercy.

Prayer is a tool for change. Philip James said "Prayer is the Spirit speaking truth to Truth". And i say "I have seen men talk, I have seen Prayers work". Pray without ceasing. Keep praying for your nation.

Goodbye to October.

Indian Bank Robbers digs a Tunnel to Steal from Bank, Robbery Inspired byIndian Movie "Dhoom"

This is the most inspiring robbery act carried out in 2014. On Monday, 27th October a bank in India, which is located in the Sonipat district of Haryana state, came and found the contents in the vault missing.

Now the amazing thing about this robbery is that the burglars dug a tunnel measuring about 100 feet long into the bank. The tunnel which started in an abandon building led to the bank vault where the burglars carted away all the monies and jewelries. This robbery was said to have been inspired by Indian Blockbuster movie "Dhoom".

See how CNN reports this story, The burglary was meticulously planned and executed, with the tunnel dug from an unoccupied, nearby house extending to the bank and breaking the concrete floor of the vault.
The region's deputy SP said that the burglars had been digging the tunnel for at least two days, and they believe that professionals aided them.

This kind of burglary is very rare, he added.

The culprits fled with cash, jewelry and other valuables believed to be worth thousands of dollars, he said. All that was left in the vault were broken lockers and the remnants of the destroyed flooring.

Authorities have not ruled out involvement of someone who had inside knowledge of the bank, although no suspects have been named so far. A special team has been set up to catch the culprits.

Zambia President: Dr. Scott Becomes First Africa's White President in 20 Years

Dr. Guy Scott
Pictures-Late President Michael Sata(Left), Acting President, Dr. Guy Lindsay Scott(Right)

The Zambian President, Michael Sata who died yesterday October 28th aged 77 has been replaced by the Vice President of Gambia Dr Guy Scott.

Dr.Guy Lindsay Scott is the first white president of Zambia in 20 years. He is the first white man to be democratically elected as VP on a ticket in the African continent.

According to Reuters, Scott, a Cambridge-educated economist born in Zambia to Scottish parents, had been Sata's vice president. He will be interim leader until an election in three months, making him the first white African leader since South Africa's F.W. de Klerk lost to Nelson Mandela in the 1994 election that ended apartheid.

Scott, 70, is ineligible to run in a presidential election because his parents were not born in Zambia, leaving defense minister Edgar Lungu and finance minister Alexander Chikwanda the most likely contenders for the ruling Patriotic Front party's ticket, analysts say.

Election will take place in 3 months time, most likely in February 2015.

10 Ways To Make Working Days Feel Like Weekend

Most of us do not know how to make our day pleasant. Our day revolves around the same boring and stereotyped activity from work to home, some others skip a whole day meal till they get home  which is not good for the health. Below, I have listed 10 ways you can spend your working days to feel like weekends. These ten tips will nourish your body, mind and your heart, Read them below;

Eat Breakfast: Please ensure you eat in the morning before you start your day's job. Some of us give tales of been unable to eat early in the morning with excuse of a stomach upset. Well, if you cant eat so early at home then do eat something at work. Breakfast is an important meal-hour one cannot afford to skip.
Play Games: Yes, play games even at work. While working it is important to take between 15-30 mins to play some games on your phone or any of your device, this will help you relax your mind and sharpen your mind when you decide to resume your work. These games ranging from Zuma, Chess game, puzzle etc, are encouraged to reduce stress. If you cant play games, a little peek to see that movie on your phone or tab is allowed too.

Drink Lots of Water: Some people spend an entire day without drinking water, that is so not healthy. Our body contains more water than any other food we eat this implies our body needs more water. Constant intake of water keeps the body healthy and refreshing. We should take a minimal of 6 glasses of water daily, starting with one every morning.
Eat lunch: I hate to skip my lunch and when i do i cant work until i have done so. Eating Lunch is as important as your breakfast and work, and heavy lunch has been advised to take you through the day.
Fruits: Eat fruits daily or any content of Vitamin C. Fruits helps to keep you away from the doctor and keeps the antibodies strong. Eat clean fruits.
Love Call: This point is as important as the rest of them. A little care, a little Laugh, a little Love away from the boss and job breathing down your neck. I know you are asking how, 2 mins on the phone is enough to rant about your day to your partner and he or she gives you reassuring words like i will give you a massage when you come home and I love you, this keeps you blooming the rest of the day. And in-case you don't have a partner this brings me to the next point.
Chat with friends: The various social media has made this easy. Work period is a good time to chit chat with friends on group platforms this also helps you feel relaxed and keeps the work going. And with good friends there is always something to talk about.

Wash your hands regularly: The period of Ebola has made this point very crucial. Aside the Ebola factor it is advisable to wash your hands regularly especially before meals to prevent germs from getting into our body. Every germ goes from the hand to the mouth. Please keep those hands clean.

Relaxation: After each day's work, Please ensure you relax either by watching T.V or reading a book. This will help prepare and relax your mind for the work ahead by sunrise the next day. At this point you get to spend time with the family especially with the kids if you have any, it is a family time.

Feed your Spirit man: This is the most important point, after feeding the physical body it is important you do same for your spiritually body. A good day ends with a word of exaltation to God, pray in the morning before going out, do same before you retire. You will be Glad you did.

And incase your boss finds you doing any of these at work show him where you found it, it could help him or her. Health is wealth stay healthy.

Photo & News Credited to The punch news

Residents of Onimaba, College Bus stop, Ikotun Road, Igando, Lagos have been living in fear since last week Thursday when a letter purportedly written by armed robbers circulated their streets.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the letter, which was typed on an A4 paper and scattered on the streets, was noticed by residents as they woke up on Thursday morning.

About 20 copies of the letter were said to have been picked up from streets such as Lateef Bello, Ogunbewon, Taiwo Adediran, and Alhaji Hamzat.

Our correspondent learnt that the people called the attention of landlords to the document, and the landlords association was said to have reported at the Igando Police Division.
During a visit to the area on Friday afternoon, PUNCH Metro obtained a copy of the letter.
In the paper, the robbers wrote that residents should be prepared to ‘entertain’ them as they were coming for their end-of-the-year packages. The robbers added that they could strike the area at any time they deemed fit.

The letter reads, “Be prepared, be prepared, be prepared. Our dues must be paid this festive season. Nobody can stop us as we can strike at any time. Only enough money can save your life.

“To be forewarned is to be fore-harmed. We have warned you in this area, and if you have ears, you ought to hear.” CONTINUE BELOW TO SEE MORE...

R101, Picture of Ben Murray-Bruce

The media mogul Ben Murray-Bruce has consistently shown interest in the affairs of his people and his desire to lead. After losing out in the Bayelsa state election, Murray-Bruce is headed to the National Assembly.

Ben Murray-Bruce has declared his intention today, 27th October to represent  the Bayelsa East Senatorial District in the National Assembly. Reports said the the senatorial seat has been zoned to the Akassa speaking group of the Brass local government where Murray-Bruce hails from. Ben Murray-Bruce said he is interested in making Change and tackling poverty. Continue to see his statement below

“I am running for the Senate because I am interested in the laws of our land; I am interested in making change and I am not interested in business as usual.

“I have always been concerned about the poverty of the mind, about women who are not being protected, children who are being raped, men who are paedophiles, a society where there is no order, we must bring order to our society.

“There are too many poor people living under the bridge. Nigeria is too rich for people to be poor and Nigeria is too poor for the super upper class to be so rich. That has to stop.”

“If they pay their taxes, an individual will not have three private jets and the poor man on the street will have a chance to make a living. There is no way I will be a happy seeing my children go to private school and my staff do not have their children at school and cannot eat three meals a day.

“This society will explode and implode, there will be violence, there will be mayhem, unless politicians start thinking rationally.”

Word For Today - Gratitude

word for today, Gratitude
GRATITUDE PART 2

Few weeks ago, i embarked on the seven days Gratitude Challenge. When my friend asked that i joined the 7 days challenge on Facebook, a part of me took it seriously and the other part told me i had to just keep updating my Facebook status on Gratitude to keep the challenging going. But i was more troubled about one question, what will i be grateful for in the next 7 Days? It occurred to me that i am not being grateful enough for who i am and what i have. When the challenge started, every moment, every second became important.

The seven days taught me how to be grateful for everything, i mean everything excluding nothing. I appreciated feelings of joy, wholeness, love. The new gratitude i found helped me walk in confidence and it satisfied me. In those 7 days it wasn't all joy, i had painful periods too, but i wasn't miserable. in that sorrow, gratitude shed light of hope in keeping faith.
Gratitude is an attitude of gratefulness. Gratitude helps us accept changes not to avoid them. Gratitude is accepting both the big and small miracles.

I look at myself and i am grateful for the clothes, the shoes, the hair, soap, make up, food, shelter, my short hair you know because somebody out there wants it despite it is not the best.

If you think you don't have anything to be grateful for, i advise you look deeply. Start a challenge, 7 days or more, get a journal and write things you are grateful for each day and read them on the last day of your challenge.

I leave you with this, When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life for your strength.Give thanks for your food and for the Joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself. by Tecumseh
