Students of the University of Benin, Edo state Nigeria, embarked on a protest today over the death of two students who were knocked by an army patrol in front of the school gate popularly called main gate on Sunday Morning.
The students led by the President of the Student Union Government, Comrade Omorogbe, came out in all black dress code and are demanding for a pedestrian bridge across the road, and a speed breaker on the 8-lane road to prevent a recurrence of such an incident.
They insisted that compensation should be given to the families of the victim within seven days; else they will embark on another protest.
The students further requested that a fly over should be constructed at the university gate within a year.
Travellers and road users on the road are stranded at the moment.

We hope the re-occurrence of these Incidents will be prevented.
