WORD FOR TODAY...INSPIRATIONAL

Every act needs a stage to display its performance but when you do not have a stage start at the hallway.

About few months ago, my nine year old cousin and I went to the Amusement park so she could play. while we were there, My cousin, Chisom said to me " I will want to be great musician when i grow up, i want to sing my heart out and make people happy". Obviously, i encouraged her but Chisom said she wanted to start singing now at friends birthday and school shows. She was so passionate about starting her dream at the age of nine. Chisom has a strong voice and sings with the children choir in the church so it was not out of place as the hunger for singing emerged.

Then i thought of an idea, i asked Chisom to sing for me, She was surprised at my request and bluntly refused, I tried to lure her with candies and chocolates, yet she was adamant, she never says no to chocolates.
She finally said, Aunty but there is no stage and an audience for me to sing to like we see on Tv, no one to sing to Just you. She looked quite disappointed.
"if you want to sing on stage, to an audience, you should learn to sing to one person, when you master the act of singing to one person, your crowd will grow, these were my words to her.
Chisom looked around to see if anyone was watching us, but no one was, everyone was engrossed in their discussions with family and loved ones. Chisom asked me to join her in the first two lines of the song which was familiar to us. We started singing together, then she continued the song alone by the time she was half way into the chorus of the song, unknown to her most people at the park were glued to her.
She sang the song with her eyes closed to the very end, as she hugged me she heard a loud applause from the watching crowd. Chisom was stunned as she thanked them, and i said to her" that is your audience and this is your stage.

Some of us can relate to the above story as it is prevalent in our lives. Few points to note from the above story is, Passion is something and everything in starting up an act/idea. Where passion lies, success lays in wait.

Finding some one who believes in your act is important especially if they are family. And should be willing to guide you through the first few steps into your passion. And we should be ready to display our acts when we have no stage and less than one audience. The crowd will eventually gather when you stay true to passion and originality.

Did i tell you, Chisom has started singing in school plays and friend's birthdays though it is for free but she gets  her stage and audience.

Start showing your ideas and acts to people, put them down on paper, write it down on your various social mediums, it may get one like and one approval but do not stop if you are passionate about it.
Remember wherever you are is your stage to promote your act and your audience is lurking around waiting for your display.

Put your heart , mind, and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret of success. Swami Sivanada
