Senate President: Igbo Loses Out, APC shops for new Candidate

There seems to be a lot of Issue for the Ndi Igbo in the new government dispensation as they may have lost out in occupying the No 3 position in the country. From the result released from the National Assembly elections held on Saturday, the South-East Geo-Political zone did not vote in any APC candidate which has left them out of the race for the post of the Senate president of the Federation.

According to Vanguard news, From the results posted by the INEC, the South East neither returned any of its APC senators nor voted for any politician to emerge on the APC platform.
It was learnt that the non-availability of any ranking APC Senator from the region to take the slot of Senate President might compel the party to zone the slot to the North Central, where the current Senate President, David Mark hails from.

How Goodluck Lost The Nigerian Election-UK GUardian

For the first time ever a Nigerian president has failed to win the popular vote. It’s a landmark for democracy, but where did it all go wrong for Jonathan?

The UK Guardian, Published an article written by Max Siollun where he enumerated on the five major reasons President Jonathan lost the 2015 presidential elections. Find the article below,...

Goodluck Jonathan has earned the dubious distinction of being the first president in Nigerian history to lose an election. In many ways, Jonathan was the architect of his own downfall. He made critical mistakes that turned the public and allies against him, and led them to gravitate towards the opposition. Here’s where it all went wrong: Continue...

1. Don’t cross the boss
When Nigeria emerged from 15 years of military rule in 1999, Jonathan’s Peoples Democratic party (PDP) was formed by wealthy retired generals to inherit power from the military. One of the godfathers was General Olusegun Obasanjo, who has governed Nigeria twice (between 1976-1979 and 1999-2007). Jonathan made the mistake of alienating Obasanjo; leading the general to write a public 18-page letter containing lacerating criticism of the president in December 2013. A party member likened Obasanjo’s hectoring of Jonathan to a father’s disappointment with his son.

Statement By President Goodluck Jonathan On the Presidential Election 2015

This is the official statement by president Jonathan after the announcement of the results of presidential election yesterday,

Fellow Nigerians,

I thank you all for turning out en-masse for the March 28 General Elections. I promised the country free and fair elections. I have kept my word. I have also expanded the space for Nigerians to participate in the democratic process. That is one legacy I will like to see endure.

Although some people have expressed mixed feelings about the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I urge those who may feel aggrieved to follow due process based on our constitution and our electoral laws, in seeking redress.

As I have always affirmed, nobody’s ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian. The unity, stability and progress of our dear country is more important than anything else.

My Personal Findings and Thoughts on the Election

Before the election results are announced and court trial begins, I want to share my thoughts and findings about the voting process and other election matters.
Generally, I believe this election was one of the best in terms of orderliness and Nigerians being cooperative at the polling booths, though there were hiccups here and there but good.
The biggest blow I received this morning was how Mr. President lost in the Aso-Villa. It came as a shocker I felt he should have won at home but this also goes to prove that INEC was independent in some ways.

Inspiration: Morning Smiles

Big beautiful smiley-face flower.

A smile is so much more than just a show of teeth. A smile is a prelude to laughter. A smile is a spreader of joy. A smile is a messenger of peace. A smile is a sharer of happiness. A smile is a giver of love. Smiles help to heal the heart. Smiles help to nourish the soul. Smiles help to build a better world one grin at a time.

The truth is you don’t smile because you feel good; you feel good because you smile. Don’t be stingy with your smiles then. Share them with joy. Let everyone see your smiling face. Let Heaven see your smiling soul. Let God’s love flow through your smile until like the morning sun you light up the world.

Morning lovelies.

Dear Compatriots,

2. I also wish to place on record, once again, my sincere gratitude for the support you have given my administration without which the significant progress we have made in recent years would not have been possible.

3. In spite of the many challenges we have had to contend with since 1999, our present democratic dispensation continues to endure and grow stronger in keeping with the yearnings and aspirations of our people.
