President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed sadness at the explosion which rocked a highly populated motor park in Nyanya, less than ten minutes’ drive from the Abuja city centre killing over 50 Nigerians on Monday morning.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, President Jonathan directed the medical services to do their very best to save the lives of those injured in the explosion.

While expressing his “heartfelt condolences to bereaved families”, the president has ordered heightened security in the Federal Capital Territory as a result of the bombings.

May their Soul Rest in Peace.
