Morning showers....

Every morning gives us something special to look forward to. The events of yesterday are not replicated in today.  When the morning sun rises and our eyes open to behold it, it is not of our own accord but the maker of heaven and earth.
He gives us the grace to see each day. I am grateful to him because life can't be bought nor traded. So when you get up remember to say "Father Thank You, Thank You for the day and the Events before me".
God's faithfulness is ever sure. Be happy each day you Live. And always give him an overdose of thanksgiving, he deserves it all.

Supreme Court Upholds Gov Fayose of Ekiti, Dismisses Petition

The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state and dismissed the petition against him.
‎In a unanimous decision by the seven-man panel led by Justice John Fabiyi, the apex court upheld the earlier decisions of the Court of Appeal and the Ekiti State Governorship Election Tribunal, which had both earlier ruled that the petition challenging Fayose’s victory lacked merit.

There Was a Country: A peek into Nigeria History

This piece is complied by Anyalewechi Alozie .....

In 1956 there was a country... whose first Mayor in a place called Enugu was a Fulani man by the name of Mallam Umaru Altine. He was not appointed but elected T...WICE as Mayor.
There was a country which has a place called Port Harcourt. The people of Port Harcourt elected a man called Chief John Umolu (from Etsako in today's Edo State) to represent its municipality in the Eastern Region House of Assembly.
In 1959 there was a country, a country where when its Eastern House of Chiefs was constituted a man named Mallam Umaru Yushau, the Sarkin Hausawa or Chief of the Hausas in Onitsha, was elected as a member of the Eastern House of Chiefs.
In 1957 there was a country which has a city called Kano. Kano celebrated the appointment of one Felix Okonkwo, as a special member of the Northern House of Chiefs.
In 1950 in a place called Lagos Olorunimbe was the first Mayor of Lagos with Mboni Ojike as his deputy
In 1952 a man from Ogwashi Ukwu, by the name of Chike Ekwuiyasi represented Benin West in the Western House of Assembly
There was a country....What happened to that country?

To the Nigerian youth. Those who knew this country have deprived you of knowing your history to satisfy their own selfish needs.
One day we will get back on the passionatly set course to nationhood, and fix the one that has so sadly derailed

Chibok Girls: One Year In Memory, Will they Ever be found?

Today makes it year since 234 or more girls were taken from Chibok. After one year, I do not know how these girls are doing, what effect they will have on us by the time they return. It has been a painful long year. We hope they are safe and good where ever they are.
To celebrate their one year, I am re-publishing this piece I wrote six months ago on the 14th of October 2014. It is a reminder of how long it has been. Read the piece below....
I stood in-front of a wooden bar and behind me was a deep dark night. I could not move forward because the bars obstructed the way, neither could I move backward because of the fear of what I may find. I clasped my hand to the bar and peered through the spaces between them in a bid to see through the thick darkness but, I saw nothing. All I could feel was mosquitoes’ bites.

Suddenly, she grabbed my hands from the other side of the wooden bar. I tried to break free from the stranger but she said to me “when are they coming for us, when are they coming to take us home” She spoke in a petrified tone.

Shivers of fear ran through my bones as I mumbled, “Who are you?’’ To which she replied, ‘’it is Ruth, the girl taken from Chibok, when are they coming to take us home”. I tried to imagine how I got there and to convince Ruth that the government was working hard to bring them home; although, I did not believe my words. Continue below....

PDP Defectors Should Not Expect Automatic Appointment in My Govt- Says Buhari

The President elect, Gen Buhari who addressed newsmen after casting his vote at his polling unit in Daura Katsina state yesterday April 11th, said that PDP defectors should not expect automatic appointment as ministers in his government.
"I have no fears of PDP defectors. The people who are defecting will only have influence in their constituencies. Since their constituencies are now controlled by the APC, their influence is, therefore, limited. I hope the people that are defecting will accept the fact that they are joining the people who succeeded. So, I don’t think they will just come and say they want to be ministers next month, simply because they were ministers before.” he said

"The Oba's Words Matters"-Chimamanda Adichie's Response to the Oba's Threat

This piece was written by Chimamanda Adichie in response to the Oba's threat. Read below....

"A few days ago, the Oba of Lagos threatened Igbo leaders. If they did not vote for his governorship candidate in Lagos, he said, they would be thrown into the lagoon. His entire speech was a flagrant performance of disregard. His words said, in effect: I think so little of you that I don’t have to cajole you but will just threaten you and, by the way, your safety in Lagos is not assured, it is negotiable.
There have been condemnations of the Oba’s words. Sadly, many of the condemnations from non-Igbo people have come with the ugly impatience of expressions like ‘move on,’ and ‘don’t be over-emotional’ and ‘calm down.’ These take away the power, even the sincerity, of the condemnations. It is highhanded and offensive to tell an aggrieved person how to feel, or how quickly to forgive, just as an apology becomes a non-apology when it comes with ‘now get over it.’

5 common annnoying attitudes in Relationships

Indeed no relationship is perfect no matter how much you love each other. You both may have lots in common but it is possible you may disagree on some issues. This is not about Love but the fact that you both are still different individuals despite your coming together as one. He or she will sometimes do something to annoy regardless of the existing love. These are the 5 most common annoying things in relationship...
  1. Nagging - okay, we all feel the need to complain every once in a while, but when complaining becomes the main theme of your verbal expression, it becomes defined as nagging, and no one likes a nag. Nagging, to most, is annoying and frustrating and makes the person being nagged to like they can’t do anything right and they eventually grow tired of it and either leave the relationship or block out the nagging and stop caring.
