A MUST READ: Kidnappers sell 15years old Nigerian School Girl to Sex workers in Niger Republic

Source: The Punch

Precious Okoro, the 15-year-old schoolgirl, who was kidnapped by a syndicate suspected to be operating from the Niger Republic, may have been sold to a pimp in Niamey, the country’s capital.

The victim’s mother, Blessing, told PUNCH Metro that she spoke with a woman on the telephone who abused her for disturbing them with calls.
She added that the unnamed woman claimed that she had bought the schoolgirl from the kidnappers.

PUNCH Metro had reported on January 27, how the Junior Secondary School three pupil was kidnapped in the Sangotedo, Ajah area of Lagos State, after she boarded a vehicle en route to her school in Ikenne, Ogun State.
Her father, Nwaigwe, was said to have seen his daughter enter the vehicle without suspecting that it was owned by kidnappers. Continue below....

“Nobody in the world can provide 24/7 electricity everywhere in Nigeria” Says Prof Chinedu Nebo.

“Nobody in the world can provide 24/7 electricity everywhere in Nigeria”, adding that 160,000 megawatts would be needed to do that. The current capacity is 4,500 megawatts.
“The cost of providing electricity per megawatt on average is $2billion. To get to where South Africa is, you will need about $3.2trillion (about N672trillion). Where will you find that kind of money?” he asked. In addition to the huge amount of money involved, Prof. Nebo said power projects also take time to come to fruition, stressing that it takes between four and six years to deliver the power projects.

This is what the Minister of Power Chinedu Nebo said in London Over the weekend. He further said,

“You don’t buy these things off the shelves. It takes time to design, study, procure, manufacture, install and commission”, he said, but explained that the government had done so much on generation capacity, transmission and distribution infrastructure, which are key necessities in power supply.

Chimamanda Adichie Writes: Nigeria’s Postponed Election Is An Embarrassment Of Bad Choices

Ms Chimamanda Adichie is an amazing writer but it is good to know where our strength lies. All I see are verbose words with nothing new. No matter how much we try to criticize our government via our writings, lets enumerate solutions in those writings too. Read Chimamanda's analysis of GMB and GEJ and the elections:

Last week, Victor, a carpenter, came to my Lagos home to fix a broken chair. I asked him whom he preferred as Nigeria’s next president: the incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan, or his challenger, Muhammadu Buhari.

“I don’t have a voter’s card, but if I did, I would vote for somebody I don’t like,” he said. “I don’t like Buhari. But Jonathan is not performing.”

Victor sounded like many people I know: utterly unenthusiastic about the two major candidates in our upcoming election.

Were Nigerians to vote on likeability alone, Jonathan would win. He is mild-mannered and genially unsophisticated, with a conventional sense of humor. Buhari has a severe, ascetic air about him, a rigid uprightness; it is easy to imagine him in 1984, leading a military government whose soldiers routinely beat up civil servants. Neither candidate is articulate. Jonathan is given to rambling; his unscripted speeches leave listeners vaguely confused. Buhari is thick-tongued, his words difficult to decipher. In public appearances, he seems uncomfortable not only with the melodrama of campaigning but also with the very idea of it. To be a democratic candidate is to implore and persuade, and his demeanor suggests a man who is not at ease with amiable consensus. Still, he is no stranger to campaigns. This is his third run as a presidential candidate; the last time, in 2011, he lost to Jonathan.

WFT: Walk Through Life

Good Morning all, it is always good to start the day with some inspiration. Enjoy it.

An unusual thing happened to me a few years ago. I spoke casually with a woman who served tables at a restaurant I frequented. We knew each other by first name only, but usually chatted for a few minutes each time I dined there.

One day, she asked me, “Do you have a son about eight years old?”

'What has he done?' I thought. I nodded yes.

She pressed on. “Does he play soccer?”

When I said that he did, she asked if he played in a game the previous week at a particular field. Again, I answered, “Yes.”

“I thought so,” she smiled. “I saw him and thought he must be your son.”

Since there were tens of thousands of young boys in the city, I was amazed and exclaimed, “I didn't know he looked that much like me!”

“Oh, I didn't see his face,” she said smiling as if she were keeping a secret.  Continue.......

Rich Kid gets 51 yrs old Nigerian Man, Akpu-nku as Toy from his Rich dad

This is not funny but a Nigerian man just made himself a playmate for a white boy for $1000 dollars a year for five years, which is about 200, 000 naira yearly. See how the story is reported below:

A rich white man Wallace Turnquist has reportedly purchased Ezekiel Akpu-Nku from Nigeria as a playmate and servant for this 13-year-old son, Skyler.

“Last year I took Sky on a hunting safari to Africa and he was delighted by the African people,” Wallace Turnquist told WSB-TV. “How funny they were, how they were always smiling and so eager to please. At first he just wanted to take one, but I told him kidnapping was illegal. So instead, I bought him one.”Continue after the cut.....

2015 election: Jega Postpones Election to March and April

Prof. Attahiru Jega, the INEC chairman in a media briefing in Abuja today  7th February announced the postponement of the General elections. The presidential election now holds on the 28th of March while the governorship election holds on the 11th of April.

Jega said this conclusion was reached after wide consultation with all stakeholders and security heads. He said the main reason for the shift for the election was due to security reasons which the security personnel's said they needed about six weeks more to prepare for the elections.
He said this is in the best interest of the country and that it will give the security department more time to prepare for the election. and on the part of INEC they will also try to give more training to their ad-hoc staff

Is this true: Audio recording of How ekiti Election was allegedly rigged

How true is this? I have listened to it, may be you should too. Reports says this is an audio evidence of how Ekiti election was rigged.

According to Sahara reporters,

SaharaReporters has received unimpeachable documents and audio recordings providing substantial evidence that major Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders planned and successfully rigged the gubernatorial elections in Ekiti State, and plotted a similar scenario in Osun in 2014.
The audio recordings and affidavit were provided by Sagir Koli, a Captain in the 32nd Artillery Brigade stationed in Ekiti State, who has since fled the country for fear of retaliation. Capt. Koli recorded the conversation on 20th June 2014 when he was asked to accompany his Commanding Officer, Brigadier General Aliyu Momoh, to the meeting. The venue was held at Spotless Hotel in Ado-Ekiti.
The audio recordings depict the meeting as being attended by the eventual “winner” of the election, Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti; Senator Iyiola Omisore; a man identified as Honorable Abdulkareem; the Minister for Police Affairs Caleb Olubolade; and Senator Musiliu Obanikoro who was at the time the Minister of State for Defence. Mr. Chris Uba came to Ekiti with huge stash cash and soldiers from the East to carry out the assignment.

What do you think?

Non-Indigenes In the Lagos Race: Okoroji, Oghene Optimistic about win in Lagos

Bob Okoroji
Bob Okey Okoroji

Some of us are as surprised as I was when I heard too. But some non-indigenes as we would refer to them are vying for positions in Lagos.
Above is the Lagos lawyer, Bob Okey Okoroji who announced his intention to contest in the Lagos Guber-race last year.
Bob Okoroji may have been left out in the media reportage in the Lagos race including the debate which held at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Cathedral in Ikeja.
Okoroji who is contesting under the umbrella of the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) showed much enthusiasm as he was interviewed this morning on Channels television. He said APGA is interested in bringing the people of Lagos together no matter where they are from. Bob Okoroji is from Abia State.

Another non-Indigene in the Lagos race is Oghene Emma Egoh, who is vying for House of Representative for Amuwo Odofin constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP). My sources tell me he is optimistic about this election and urged the people of Amuwo Odofin to vote for change in Lagos. Oghene Egor is from delta State. Sorry I have no Pictures of Oghene.
Well, if they eventually win it will be the beginning of a new era in Lagos.

Sweet Revenge: Jordan Executes two Al-Qaeda Prisoners.

Jordanian Pilot Moaz (left) and Al-rishawi(right) during her confession.

Barely 24 hours after the Islamic state(ISIS) executed the 26 year old Jordanian Pilot Lieutenant Moaz al-Kasasbeh, Jordan has executed two Al-Qaeda prisoners.

According to reports, agovernment spokesperson confirmed the execution of the two prisoners namely Sajida al-Rishawi and Ziad al-Karbouli. The execution took place at sunrise at the Swaqa prison in Amman(Jordan's Capital).

Al-Rishawi was on death row for her role in a triple hotel bombing in the Jordanian capital Amman in 2005 that killed dozens. Al-Karbouly was sent to death row in 2008 for plotting terror attacks on Jordanians in Iraq.

Jordan had twice offered to swap her for the pilot. However, officials have said his captors did not deliver proof of life and the swap never happened.

The 26-year-old first lieutenant was taken hostage in ISIL's stronghold of Raqqa, Syria, after his F-16 jet crashed in December. Hope more is done to stop ISIL.

WFT: It Is "A Miracle Morning".

Good Morning, It is a miracle morning for everyone of us. Oh! and this article was written by a Steve. Enjoy it.
"I stumbled out the door of a mountain cabin where I was spending the weekend working with youth and their families at a rustic resort center. I had a 6:30 AM appointment to keep and squinted from the early autumn sun peeking over pine-blanketed mountaintops.

I was started by a voice behind me. “Today is a miracle!” I turned to find one of the teenagers following behind.

“How?” I asked her. It looked like it might be pleasantly warm later in the day. Otherwise, fairly ordinary. The word “miracle” seemed like an overstatement. Anyway, I wasn’t sure if I could handle much excitement this early in the morning.

“Think about it,” she smiled. “The sun rose, didn’t it?”

“Yeah.” I found it easy to hide any enthusiasm. It seemed to rise on every other morning without my getting involved.

“That’s a miracle! It is miraculous that the earth turns as it does. At night, the sun goes down and in the morning it rises. It just happens!”

I pretty much already had this figured out. I rubbed sleep from my eyes. I was also busy thinking about how to get a cup of coffee. CONTINUE BELOW.....

Soludo's Solid Response To Madam.

Wow!!! I think that is the first thing you say after reading the response from the former governor of CBN, Charles Soludo. Though this article is highly lengthy but was also extra solid. It was a good article to enlighten Nigerians on the downfall of our economy. I suggest you all should read it.
To make it easy for those who hate lengthy articles, the first part talks about Soludo's achievement which was applauded by two past presidents Obasanjo and Y'ardua. The other part tends to address the economical issues raised by both parties. The highlighted part will also help your reading. Read the Response below....

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the Missing Trillions (1) Chukwuma Charles Soludo

I read some of the responses to my article, “Buhari vs Jonathan: Beyond the Election”, and I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the debate. I am glad that the debate has finally taken off. I have decided, for the record, to re-enter the debate if only to set some records straight and hopefully elevate the debate further. Whom do I respond to? First, let me thank Gov Kayode Fayemi for his very mature and professional response on behalf of the APC. It forms a great basis for deepening the conversation. Pat Utomi, Oby Ezekwesili, Iyabo Obasanjo, and thousands of other patriotic Nigerians have raised the content of the debate. Femi Fani-Kayode made me laugh, as usual.

Why do Nigerian Girls date Married Me? Onyeka Ibeanusi tells us why

Why do Nigerian Ladies date Married men? Musician and social commentator, Onyeka Ibeanusi, takes on this topic.

This controversial topic has been a subject of regular argument without any credible answer. You may have wondered why a beautiful young, presumably intelligent girl will leave a trail of young and energetic young men running after her to pitch her tent with a married man. Someone she is fully aware belong to someone else. This phenomenon has led established female celebrities who are considered screen goddesses of some sort to end up marrying old men. Sometimes as second, third or even fourth wives. There is no need to go into details because the list is endless.
