ChannelsTV correspondent in the state, Pius Angbo has being reportedly barred from covering the proceedings from the Benue state House of Assembly by the speaker of the House, Mr Terkimbi Kyange, after the reporter showcased the footage of the free for all fight in the house on Tuesday 23rd June.(see video of the Benue state brawl)According to Pius who was interviewed on sunrise daily today, he said, he went to the state House of Assembly yesterday June 25th to cover House proceedings but was informed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the House that only accredited journalists will henceforth be allowed to cover events of the state Assembly.
All the journalist who came for plenary were allowed into the house. After waiting for one hour, he made efforts to gain access into the Assembly but was stopped by the press secretary who insisted that the speaker did not approve Channels Tv's coverage. Pius left the premises afterwards.

Is it wrong to have reported the Story? Where is the democracy we practice? What about Freedom of Information and Speech?
