IGP Arase Launches 259 patrol Vehicles and a Police Complaint Website
Informationng is reporting that the Inspector General of police Solomon Arase has launched 259 specially designated “Safer Highway Patrol Vehicles” which will replace the new road blocks
Arase launched the 259 patrol vehicles at the Force headquarters. He said they have been customized to specific states.
He added that special code numbers would be inscribed on each vehicle with facility to monitor their deployment, adding that the special squad trained to man such vehicles were not permitted to cross their designated areas of surveillance.
The IGP also launched a new website where the public can make their complaints against any police Violations.
Continue to see the Website.....
However, he appealed that such “complaints would be factual and I would appreciate if they can be supported with pictures or other evidence”.
Nigerians can register complaints on police misconduct via www.stopthebribes.net.
I went digging on the site to verify. Yes it exits but it seems as if it has been around for sometime. The site has reports from 2012 till date and it looks oldfashion not creatively done, everything is clustered. The site is a project of the Cleen Foundation.
But I wonder why some of us didn't know about this site.
You can also check the site to verify.
