Word For Today.... Forgiveness Part 2

Forgiveness
Forgiveness & Confession
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Psalm 32:5
Confession is as important as forgiveness. The passage above illustrates there are three process to ultimate forgiveness. The first is acknowledgement, you to accept that you have really done something wrong against God or neighbour. Taking responsibility for your actions, you must accept within your heart that you were wrong and you are willing to take the blame to the very end. The second process is openness, now that you have acknowledged your fault you need to be open about it. You have been hiding it for years, months, weeks; it is about time you come out with the secret. When you continue to keep the skeleton hidden it taunts you the more and you will have no peace. The third process is Confession. Confession- willingness to say all the wrongs you did without hiding any of it. These three process paves way for forgiveness whether from Man or God.

WHY SHOULD I CONFESS?
You should confess because you find peace. When you wrong someone and you decide not to confess, all you will carry around with you is guilt and there will be no peace for you. You should confess so you can be saved and experience mercy from God (Job 40:14, Prov 28:13). If you can confess to God he will save you from the wrong road on which you are heading. Don’t ever think it is too late for that confession. This time is the right time.

WILL I BE FORGIVEN?
Certainly, God is ever faithful and ready to forgive us all our wrongs (1John 1:9), only if we confess our faults. His mercy dwells with us as long as we fear him (Psalm 103:8, 11, 17). God is so merciful that even his throne is the “Mercy Seat”. The person whom you have wronged will also forgive you, if you will confess to him/her. And you will never know if he/she will forgive you unless you try.

Acceptance, Confession brings about Forgiveness; forgiveness is a form of Love. It is not too late to make that confession and it is not unforgivable. Forgiveness is like the rain in the desert. Forgiveness heals the heartland.
