Now that Myles is no more what have we learnt from Him?
Out of the 60 years Myles spent on earth, about 30 years was dedicated to the ministry he believed in, the ministry he was called to serve in. Myles Munroe meant different things to so many people but i will like to share a few things we should learn from the man Myles.
First Lesson, Myles Munroe knew what he was called to do and when he was done with school, he started his ministry. Myles discovered what he was born to do early in his life which helped him follow his ministry early in Life.In this first lesson, the principle of self discovery is important. We need to discover who we really are, we cannot spend(waste) a good number of our life on earth and finally realize when we are 40 that we are called for another mission. Discover yourself, discover the "Man within the Man-the Inner man". For parents help children discover who they are. If one can discover who they are from their childhood they will not find it difficult to fit in when they grow up. Last month Myles Munroe tweeted on self discovery on the 30th of October, he said "The greatest discovery in life is self-discovery. Until you find yourself you will always be someone else. Become yourself." - Myles.
Second Lesson, Myles was a Bahamian(From Bahamas) and his ministry started in Bahamas. Myles went back home, where he had a house, a roof over his head, a people, to start it up. He did not go to New York with no money because there was no cashless policy then to Start his ministry. He was willing to start small. what ever be willing to start small even if you have to do it for free. Start your ministry at home(Wherever your home is), start with people around you and if you were called to that the Almighty will exalt you.
Third Lesson, Myles was a "Man of Purpose". Myles Knew the place of purpose in a man's life and it is evident in his Ministry that he lived a purposeful life. Myles knew purpose, he lived it, spoke it, wrote it, Most of his books as we all know is written on purpose to share what the Lord had shown him. Man, Find your purpose. Myles writes, When Purpose is not identified abuse becomes inevitable. When you discover yourself you will find your purpose. Self Discovery and Purpose are two sides of the same coin.
Fourth Lesson, Myles Munroe did not allow his purpose to change as the world changes. God is referred to as the unchangeable, when he gives you a purpose, he does not change it neither does the principle change. Myles believed in Purpose and Leadership change and he was vocal about it. The principle of God was his principle and he never waivered. Let God show you the way and he will not let you fall.
Fifth Lesson, Myles was a teacher. Myles Munroe taught what the Lord had shown him. he didn't hide the knowledge of truth. On 3rd November Myles tweeted this, "God knows more than he told you but will only tell you what you desire to know. Hunger for knowledge and you will receive it." Myles. Desire knowledge and you will get it. And when you do teach others too.
There are many lessons to learn from Myles Munroe, while you add yours, let us remember his words and Legacy and live by them. Let there be a Myles Munroe in every one who wants to make a change.
Myles Munroe last tweet on the 7th of November, reads thus:
True Leadership is the authority given by the trust of the followers to use power for the benefit of all." -mylesmunroeinternational.com
