STUDENTS OF UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS PROTEST TUITION HIKE

The students of the University of Lagos are currently protesting the sudden hike against tuition fee.
The Students barricaded the gates and blocked the entrance of the gates preventing motorists from gaining entrance.
The students demanded that the authorities should stop the exploitation of the students. according to sources, the students said the portal for the registration of the school fees online was closed and were asked to pay late fee which began at N10,000, which again increased to N15,000 and N20,000 progressively in the last few days..

The students are also accusing the VC Prof. Rahman Bello of corruption.

They said the ban on their Students Union, since 2005 will not hinder them from protest action against oppressive policies of the school management.

"If they do not immediately re-open the portal for registration", one of the protesting students said, "this will be a springboard to demand lifting the unacceptable ban on the students’ union government.”
