The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said on Monday it had uncovered five cannabis farms in Kaduna State.
The Commandant of the Agency, Malam Mohammed Jibrin, said the farms were located in
Zange village, Gwantu of Sanga LGA; Gidan Bello, Kagarko LGA; Fori
village, Kagoma in Jema'a LGA and Gadan Malam and Amaru, both in Zaria.
Mallam Jibrin further said`` We discovered these cannabis farms through information from members of the communities.If you find anybody cultivating certain crops near you for
which you cannot identify or you can identify it as illicit plants
please feel free to inform us.
And it is through that way that we have got information on
five different cannabis farms we have located in different parts of the
state today."
The Commandant assured the public of confidentiality and
safety to any persons that provided it with information that could
enable the agency curb drug abuse and trafficking.
According to him, the agency had arrested 300 suspects with
over two tons of cannabis sativa, 235 grammes of cocaine and 182 kg of
other narcotic substances between January and October.
