Word for Today...

Hast Thou not Known?
hast thou not heard, that the
everlasting God, the Lord, the
Creator of the ends of the
earth, fainteth not, neither is
weary? there is no searching
of his understanding.
He giveth power to the
faint; and to them that have
no might he increaseth
strenght.
Even the youths shall
faint and be weary, and the
young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon
the Lord shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up
with wings as eagles; they
shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40: 28-31
May all our strength be renewed daily as we wait on the Lord. Amen

Quotes for the Day

Africa for us , R101

These notable quotes is to remind us who we are, that we are Africans and that is who we will always be.
Even though if it looks like the nation/continent is on fire we are capable of putting-out the fire started by our country men, that even if we are the "dark continent" we should not forget that "Black is the colour" original and rich, we should always remember wherever we are that Africa is for us and it is up to us to build our homes and lit up our hills again where the world will see us shine through.
There is hope for Africa, there is Hope in Africa.
Africa is a continent in flames. And deep down, if we really accepted that Africans were equal to us, we would all do more to put the fire out. We're standing around with water cans, when what we really need is the fire brigade.
Bono
If I were not African, I wonder whether it would be clear to me that Africa is a Place where the people do not need limp gifts of fish but sturdy fishing rods and fair access to the pond. I wonder whether I would realize that while African nations have a failure of leadership, they also have dynamic people with agency and voices.
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Let's face it- think of Africa, and the first images that come to mind are of war, poverty, famine and flies. How many of us really know anything at all about the truly great ancient African civilizations, which in their day, were just as splendid and glorious as any on the face of the earth?
Henry Louis Gates
My family has very strong women. My mother never laughed at my dream of Africa, even though everyone else did because we didn't have any money; because Africa was the 'dark continent' and because I was a girl.
Jane Goodall

Africa for Africans... at home and abroad!

Ferguson in Pictures: Strong Images from the Protests

Ferguson Riots
Burning Cars in Ferguson
The Grand Jury in Ferguson yesterday gave their verdict by allowing a cop who shot a Black teenager Micheal Brown in August walk free. According to reports the jury found the testimonies of the eyewitnesses inconsistent.
This decision has sparked a United states protest, in Ferguson the affected city, in New York and in Washington D.C. In Ferguson, the protest is out of control, cars, stores were burnt, guns were been fired at the police and tear gas and rubber bullets is being used to disperse the crowd. People are angry at the verdict and are showing their anger by protesting, some of the signs on the placards also send out messages about the US condoning indiscipline among police and showing racial preference when carrying out their duties.

Also the president has asked the public to protest peacefully and there maybe a Federal investigation on the matter.

If the protests will continue for Long only time will tell.

Meanwhile, another shooting of a black teenager aged 12 was reported in Ohio, US.

2015 Elections: Ibori Contests for Delta State House of Assembly

Embedded image permalink
Erhiatake Ibori
The daughter of James Ibori, former governor of Delta state is seeking for a position in the house of representative. As we all know the former governor was indicted of corruption including money laundering and he was finally imprisoned in the UK where he is still serving jail term.
His daughter, Erhiatake Ibori is contesting for the position of the Delta state House of Assembly, Ethiope west constituency.

The problem is, some people feel she should not be vying for any position considering her father's history. Should the children of politicians be made to pay for the sins of their father? what do you think?

See what a concerned group said on tweeter about the issue
Ibori daughter campaigning for elective position in Nigeria. Nothing is impossible in Nigeria.

Word For Today.... Forgiveness Part 2

Forgiveness
Forgiveness & Confession
I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Psalm 32:5
Confession is as important as forgiveness. The passage above illustrates there are three process to ultimate forgiveness. The first is acknowledgement, you to accept that you have really done something wrong against God or neighbour. Taking responsibility for your actions, you must accept within your heart that you were wrong and you are willing to take the blame to the very end. The second process is openness, now that you have acknowledged your fault you need to be open about it. You have been hiding it for years, months, weeks; it is about time you come out with the secret. When you continue to keep the skeleton hidden it taunts you the more and you will have no peace. The third process is Confession. Confession- willingness to say all the wrongs you did without hiding any of it. These three process paves way for forgiveness whether from Man or God.

WHY SHOULD I CONFESS?
You should confess because you find peace. When you wrong someone and you decide not to confess, all you will carry around with you is guilt and there will be no peace for you. You should confess so you can be saved and experience mercy from God (Job 40:14, Prov 28:13). If you can confess to God he will save you from the wrong road on which you are heading. Don’t ever think it is too late for that confession. This time is the right time.

WILL I BE FORGIVEN?
Certainly, God is ever faithful and ready to forgive us all our wrongs (1John 1:9), only if we confess our faults. His mercy dwells with us as long as we fear him (Psalm 103:8, 11, 17). God is so merciful that even his throne is the “Mercy Seat”. The person whom you have wronged will also forgive you, if you will confess to him/her. And you will never know if he/she will forgive you unless you try.

Acceptance, Confession brings about Forgiveness; forgiveness is a form of Love. It is not too late to make that confession and it is not unforgivable. Forgiveness is like the rain in the desert. Forgiveness heals the heartland.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: Men Would You Like to Experience the Pain of ChildBirth?

Picture: Culled from the Internet

Women isn't it a great idea to see men experience the pain of childbirth hmmm, lols.

So, there is a new technology in China that has made it possible for men to experience childbirth. The birth simulator only enables the men to only feel half of the pain women go through during child bearing.
In a trial exercise, a Chinese man who used the technology literally begged the nurse to stop because the pain was too much. Watch the video by clicking on this linkChinese men experience pain of childbirth - Asia-pacific - Al Jazeera English

So Nigerian men, if this technology were here in Nigeria would you want to experience the pain of child birth? Nigerian women would you like the idea? Share your views.

Quote of the Day

I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

Micheal Jordan.

FULL VIDEO: Watch Lawmakers Force their way into the National Assembly

Below is the Video of what happened at the National Assembly Today, 20th November 2014.

The House of representative was supposed to reconvene today to discuss the extension of the Emergency Rule in the three states, Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states but the members of the lower house meet security agencies at the National Assembly and the gates under lock and key. After so much trouble the Members gained access into the house and held a close door meeting.

What does Situations like this speak of the Great Nigeria?
In a country where democracy is supposed to exist we see party politics spearheading the leadership of a country. There are so many issues behind the events that took place today.
We begin by asking Who gave the police the information that hoodlums will invade the National Assembly? Was it necessary to use tear gas against the lawmakers?  Even when the police saw the presence of the speaker, why was the gate still locked? Were the PDP and APC lawmakers locked out or Just the APC members? watch Video below

See Below the statement from the IGP, stating his reason forlocking the gates against the law makers....

Is it a problem to be a "Successful Black American Man in America"? Or are they Cursed.

Joan Tarshis                                                                     Janice Dickinson, Ex-Model

Bill Cosby as we already know has been the latest target(accused) of this reoccurring affair between Successful Black American Man and abuse cases. Bill Cosby has been accused of drugging and raping several women including ex-model Janice Dickinson and Joan Tarshis (Pictured above) among many other several women. The no of women who said they were raped by Mr Cosby has risen to 15.

These sexual assault cases against Bill started in 2005 by Andrea Constand who accused the comedian of drugging and raping her in 2004 in his Pennsylvanian home. Though the Andrea Case was settled out of court. But the rape allegations against Bill continued to multiply yearly till November 16 and November 18 2014 when Joan and Janice respectively, came out publicly to accuse the comedian.

It is also important to note that some of these cases of rape are over 30 years. Joan said she was raped in 1969, Janice said she was raped in 1989, a Beth Ferrier and Barbara Bowman also said they were raped in the 1980's and the list goes on. Continue....

Lessons to be Learnt from the Life of Myles Munroe

Myles Munroe
Myles Munroe a Motivational and Inspirational speaker, a Minister, a Leadership Tutor, this was his Life until the 9th of November. Myles was also a father, a husband, a teacher and a "Man of Purpose".
Now that Myles is no more what have we learnt from Him?
Out of the 60 years Myles spent on earth, about 30 years was dedicated to the ministry he believed in, the ministry he was called to serve in. Myles Munroe meant different things to so many people but i will like to share a few things we should learn from the man Myles.
First Lesson, Myles Munroe knew what he was called to do and when he was done with school, he started his ministry. Myles discovered what he was born to do early in his life which helped him follow his ministry early in Life.In this first lesson, the principle of self discovery is important. We need to discover who we really are, we cannot spend(waste) a good number of our life on earth and finally realize when we are 40 that we are called for another mission. Discover yourself, discover the "Man within the Man-the Inner man". For parents help children discover who they are. If one can discover who they are from their childhood they will not find it difficult to fit in when they grow up. Last month Myles Munroe tweeted on self discovery on the 30th of October, he said "The greatest discovery in life is self-discovery. Until you find yourself you will always be someone else. Become yourself." - Myles.

Word for Today....FEAR

Fear, R101

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom" thus says the good book.

Fear is one factor that has hindered men and women from achieving greatness. The same fear has also paved way for courage and persistence for others to succeed. What is your greatest fear? What is that thing you want to do and fear grips, instead of carrying it out you shy away?

Each time i decide to write a post or a topic on this blog I fear. You know what the fear is? I fear how my words will come across to you, what impact I create, do i sound like a feminist, just so many weird thoughts but at the end of the day I publish what i have written awaiting the verdict. Yesterday, I never published what I did write but today i do. The similarity in yesterday and today is the "Fear Factor" but the difference is the "Presence of Courage". Fear does not exist to defeat us, when we let Fear win that is our own making. Many of us are scared of one thing or the other, some are scared of their parents, scared of telling the truth, scared of spouse, scared of falling in Love, scared of tomorrow, scared of approaching that CEO to give him your business plan etc all these fears amount to Losing all the things you could have won. Statistics has shown that 90% of the things we fear never happen. If we let fear stop us from doing something we will never know how they would have turned, we will live with the regret of never knowing the outcome. Continue Below....

Nigeria Vs Burkina-Faso: Should GEJ be In Burkina-Faso?

Residents of Mubi flee their homes
The heat in North-eastern Nigeria has totally escalated especially from a latest report, that the second largest city in Adamwa state, Mubi has been renamed to "Madinatul Isalm" meaning "City of Islam". As Boko Haram tries to turn the North Eastern region of Nigeria to a war Zone, the question is what is the presidency doing?

The President Flew to Ouagadogo this morning as one of the delegates to engage in a peace talk to help reduce the tension on going in Burkina-Faso but who is helping Jonathan squash the aggressive militants battling to Islamize Nigeria?
Mr President may be an Influential personality in Africa but he should not attend every party he is called to. President Goodluck Jonathan is unfit for this mission considering the fact that his governed nation is most unstable.
They proclaimed a cease-fire deal to us about three weeks ago and it seems the cease-fire deal awakened the sleeping lions. There are reports of total take-over in Mubi, check points by the Islamic sect, their flags hoisted in captured cities, forceful conversion of non-Islam and the constant abduction of young Nigerians from Villages all across Nigeria. The Incessant attack and bomb Blast has led to the closure of both private and public schools in Gombe state. These numerous activities are uncountable.

Quote For The Day

Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain... To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to mistakes and choices- today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.

Word For Today...Forgiveness Part 1

There are actions and mistakes we have termed unforgivable. Are their crimes, hurts, mistakes that are unforgivable?

Every crime is forgivable, no matter how heinous these acts were. The process of grieving and forgiving certainly is not an easy one but when you get to the state of forgiveness you will realize it is better than the state of unforgiveness. A couple of years ago I battled with unforgiveness, it was a really heavy experience and i tried to set myself free from it. It was not an easy road but through prayers and acceptance of my own mistake I was able to overcome.

Unforgiveness is like a truck of gravel in your heart. When we do not forgive our heart stays weighty. When you see the person involved you put an extra effort in showing your disdain for their personality, you put an extra effort in frowning which causes wrinkles. When you stay unforgiven to someone who has hurt you, you don't hold that individual in bondage, you also hold yourself in bondage. You are a prisoner to your own-self.
